Show him the picture from above Glenn. And while the picture is certainly an exercise in the ridiculous, ask him why Biden thinks women can be in combat, but can't handle an AR-15 which is barely larger, but easier to fire, than an M4...

Shooting into the air is a well documented method to p__s off drones and F 16 drivers. That can bring unanticipated responses.

VP Biden did us a favor which we can use and should use.

He acknowledged that we have a need and right to own firearms for self defense. Use it whenever you are in a discussion.

In my opinion this is just part of the effort to drive a wedge between what they see as the two different types of gun owners/NRA members. The repeated comments about shotguns and the photo of the Pres shooting skeet (or whatever he was doing) is part of it as well. The constant mention of hunting when they darn well know the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting. We may say he is silly and he does often say stupid things, but this type of comment is part of the larger strategy.

Seems to me firing into the air is breaking one of Cooper's Commandments about safely handling a firearm, of being sure your target and what is behind it.

Can't do that if you're firing into the air. Even Hiawatha knew that, IIRC.

Basic safety failures like that get people injured or killed.

It was my understanding Vice President Biden was talking about a break action double barreled shotgun, not even a pump or Semi Auto.

And here's another little picture for those who are entertained.

While I could probably get away with shooting a shotgun in my backyard without much risk to a neighbor, I don't think 90% of Americans are fortunate enough to have a backyard large enough to be able to do that.

Plus how is the "incapable woman" (as the anti gun dems portray them) going to reload if they still kick in the door.
Joes probable response- start a committee on developing a triple barrel shotgun

He's just an elitist buffoon with an arrogant smile. Like when he said he was surprised to get these questions from parents magazine. Well parents have something more valuable to protect than anyone.

I find myself, unsurprised by his home defense advice.

GA post...

I put up a reply message on the blog of www.GunsAmerica.com .
Biden's take 2 beers & jump mindset is off the charts!

How would VP Biden's home defense plan work in the violent home invasion, murder & arson event in CT a few years ago?

Clyde frog. Unlike Jackson who shot a intruder off the balcony of the White House, he would hide and have the Secret Service take care of the problem with their sub machine guns.

So if I hear a bump in the night, go outside and fire blindly in the dark like the VP says, and someone is hurt, do I get a presidential pardon. His VP said to do it.

I do not like a very large portion of Jackson's beliefs and policies.

At least he was a real man though.

Off-topic...

Funny posts.
FYI; not one but two Hollywood blockbusters are going to come out about a "tango takedown" of 1600 Pennsylvania AVE.
One has Jamie Foxx as the POTUS, the other Olympius is Falling; www.imdb.com has Gerald "scream a lot in 300" Butler as a ex-US Secret Service agent. It's a "Die Hard in the White House" kind of film.

Yippie Ki-Yay...

Joe Biden Thinks 2 shots is enough

And if you are his wife, Biden thinks 2 shots in the air are what you need to do. You wonder if all his ridiculous statements are designed as a distraction.

My "cycle the action" remark was of the proverbial tongue in cheek sort...

But to the nay sayers who cannot see the forest for the terms...

To open and close a break action gun is to "cycle the action"... Sorry if my humor attempt was higher brow than some can fathom...

They ought to put Joe on moonshiners opposite Tickle and Jim Tom. The advice is of equal value.

Perhaps I should offer to provide an NRA Home Firearms Safety Course at no charge to the Vice President and his family.
I can think of no one right now that needs one worse than he does.

I'd love to see Uncle Joe shoot my old Parker and Ballard double with two 3 inch magnum buckshot in it. After he got his shoulder put back into place and his retina re-attached he might have a clue.

The subject at hand tends to invite ridicule and silly invective, but let's not sink to that.

IN some US jurisdictions what Biden is recommending is per se illegal under any circumstances.

That isn't an opinion but a fact. That is the strategy employed at the Pennsylvania gun show and it is an open strategy of many in the gun control movement. It isn't so much as they believe there is an actual difference, but the strategy is to try and create the illusion of a division.

warning shots....

In the sunshine state; Florida, class G students(PIs armed security etc) are taught NOT to fire warning shots!
It's reckless, wastes ammunition, gives away your position, and is stupid.
See; www.mylicensesite.com .
New W/concealed license holders & G(security) get hand-outs/handbooks to remind them what the Florida Div of Licensing laws are.

The hey so what or I was never told that excuse doesn't fly with the state Div of Licensing enforcement office.

I think Biden's off the cuff remarks were not intended as literal advice but as admonishing people for buying all those high capacity wonderweapons that have been flying off the shelf. Don't buy an AR, buy a double barreled shotgun. After all two barrels are better than one right?

Doesn't make what he said any less stupid or irresponsible. He is always making "off the cuff remarks." He ought to try thinking before speaking, then.
