Promag vs. Usa mag Which is better?

Please help! I'm looking to get some hi cap mags for Beretta 92, Browning Hi power, and Sig 226. Does anyone have experience or information with both brands for each of the handguns? The Promags cost $2 more which I am more than willing to pay for better quality and/or fit. Otherwise, I'll go with USA. I've noticed some mags fit better than others. Thanks for any response.

If I remember the thoughts here re USA mags. 10 to the 10 to the 10th power thumbs down.

I have a couple 1911 ProMags that are primo.

La Femme Nikita is on USA. That's about the only good thing I have to say about them.

USA mags are the absolutely worst mags ever made. Anything but USA!! (Mags, that is.)

I'd go with ProMag before USA mags.

However, factory mags first and always. Aftermarket mags are OK for training, but not when your life is on the line.

If you tally up all of the collective posts o the various websites, the Promags stand out as being some of the very best aftermarket mag makers along with MecGar (sp?).

Pro-Mags have worked well in my Sig P226 (hi-caps), Sig P220, and my Kahr E9.

USA mags apparently isn't making a good line of products. Period.

I concur with the person above who stated to use factory for CCW and aftermarket for range training.

Thanks to all who responded. I think I'll stick to factory, even if they're 10 rounders.

I bought eight hi-cap Pro-Mags for my Glock 34. Not ONE worked! Jamamatics in my G34 and in my friend's G17.

- Slide would lock back only "sometimes".
- Loaded rounds came flying out of the gun when the gun cycled! (I never even heard of such a thing before this!!)
- Even with ball ammo, rounds would "tip" downward, catch on the mag, and fail to feed.

ALL of these problems were sporadic but happened with all eight mags!

I took one apart and found rough spots all over the inside of the mag. By removing the rough spots on that mag (with a file and sandpaper), it seems to work better. Re-construction is still in progress.

I would not recommend Pro-Mag for 9mm Glocks to anyone. However, I've heard compliments about Pro-Mag in .45!

Speaking only about mags for GLOCKS, ANYthing other than a Glock factory mag SUCKS.

Some and I mean SOME get lucky with a Pro-Mag here and there.. Why would you take the chance with a weapon that you might need to use sometime..

It's like the old saying: you GET what you PAY for !

Probably neither.

I have a Scherer 52 round mag for the 9mm Glocks and it's very reliable. I may sell it because I never use it.
