rcbs case lube toxic ?
I bought a new bottle of rcbs case lube, I noticed it noe has a toxic label on it. Whats different from the old stuff and why the toxic label ?

What's the exact product name? Looking at their MSDS sheets, I found one for "Case Slick Spray Lube", and another for "Case Lube 2". The "Case Slick" has hexane in it, with the associated warnings, while the "Case Lube 2" says that it has no hazardous ingredients.

case lube 2 is the one I seen with the toxic label on it. Its the small white bottle about maybe 2 or m4 ounces.

My RCBS Spray case lube has hexane in it. It is the carrier that evaporates extremely fast. Use it in a well ventilated area.
To Clarify. The bottle I have is RCBS Case Slick Spray Lube. It is the one that has Hexane in it. It is a clear bottle that holds 3 or 4 ounces and the liquid is amber in color. It's about half used up. I am switching to Dillon's case lube. It's ingredients are lanolin and isopropyl alcohol. Last edited by Vance; March 1, 2013 at 10:52 PM. |

SKIN CONTACT: Under normal conditions, irritation is not expected, however certain individuals, irritation may result. INHALATION: In poorly ventilated areas or confined spaces, inhalation may cause irritation of the nose and throat. INGESTION: Not considered a normal route of entry, but may cause nausea Don't drink the stuff -- and probably not a good substitute for a well-known "personal lube"  , but other than that.....

Why doesn't the old bottle have TOXIC on it ? Is it the same product but just now has toxic on it or is the new bottle a new formula ?

If you've got a bottle of "Case Lube 2" with a "Toxic" label, a picture would be helpful, because that appears to contradict both the MSDS sheet for CL2 and what other posters are seeing on the bottle. |

Tend to believe something has been changed from the original formula hence the change in the name (2) . My original formula I still use is totally odor free and does not tend to dry either so would possibly not contain the hexaine of which you speak ?

I dont know if they are Toxic or not. But if you like stuck cases it works real good.

I have never had a stuck case with rcbs case lube, I also use Hornady one shot and have never had a stuck case with it either.
I wish I could find lanolin and 99% alcohol so I could make my own case lube. I wanted to try Dillon but it has to be ordered from the and the shipping is more that the cost of a bottle of the lube. |
