Just ordered a new Nickel Slide?
I ordered a Nickel slide for my Bersa Thunder 45 uc pro. Then remembered that the barrel is black. Not wanting to order a new barrel and pay extra shipping I am just wondering what it will look like.
Anyone have a stainless steel slide, chrome slide or nickel slide with a black barrel? |

Surplus 96D...
In 2007/2008 I owned a NIB surplus Beretta 96D .40(Brigader slide, Beretta Police Special model for Shelby County TN Sheriff's).
I sent it to Robar; www.robarguns.com & had the pistol treated with NP3 on the barrel & parts, Black Oxide on the slide and Rogard on the frame. The black Rogard was sub-standard. It nicked & scuffed quickly. The NP3(the newer NP3+ is better) worked great. It's a nickel-Teflon mix. I owned a 96D .40S&W with NP3(surplus from the PA Fish Commision) & it was a great sidearm/carry gun. ClydeFrog |

I had a .380 (for less than a month) that had a stainless slide. It looked fine, I didn't keep it long enough to tell you anything else. Got an all black 9mm now.

I really wish Bersa would make a 9 mm thunder without the double stack mag! I love my .380 thunder but I would like it more in 9 mm!

They had a used one in the LGS this week for $349..... I actually played with it for a while and I have to say the gun seemed really nice and had a great trigger pull. Almost put it on layaway but I don't really need another 9mm and I really like my Kahr.

You can polish the face/crown of the barrel and the portion of the chamber area that shows to a mirror finish or leave it black. I polished the barrel chamber area on my s&w 539 to a mirror finish and it looks great, it originally had a rough brushed type finish.

After some looking around more on the Bersa website I see that they sell a thunder 45 uc pro duotone pistol for $569(local store). Looking at the specs it will be exactly what I have now and I paid only $60 for the slide

Flitz, Mother's...
Flitz is a well made metal polish.
Mother's mag & wheel well product is popular with gun owners/collectors. CF |

It will look ok with the nickel slide and black barrel but it will look better with the nickel slide and polished or bead blasted barrel.

Not being real sure of myself on doing and polishing on my own I think I will leave it black.
