Ms Molly Spray and Cast Lead

Hi, I am starting to shoot a fair amount of cast lead bullest, fist in several .38 S&W revolvers which are .360 bore so I use HBWC to get the best out of them and no a commision mauser with .321 170g FN. I am wondering if any body has tried the MS MOLLY Spray on Mos2 bullet and bore conditioner products and if so how well they worked?

Hello. I routinely used Ms Moly on cast pistol bullets in .357 Mag, 9mm, .44 Spec, and .45ACP. It does reduce leading by a very large amount and I note no change in group size nor point of impact. I've since gone to Midway's moly spray as it bonds better to jacketed bullets. Best.

I don't use the sprays, but I do use the NECO moly-coat system. It, combined with NRA formula beeswax/Alox lube, pretty well eliminate leading in my .41 Mag. (225gr. H&G over 21.0gr WW296 circa 1300fps.)

I don't use the sprays, but I do use the NECO moly-coat system. It, combined with NRA formula beeswax/Alox lube, pretty well eliminate leading in my .41 Mag. (225gr. H&G over 21.0gr WW296 circa 1300fps.)

A number of years ago there was a commercial reloader here in OKC that reloaded cast bullets that he made himself. He put his bullets in a drum that he had rigged up and dumped Moly in a liquid solution and coated his bullets before loading.

I've never tried molly, does it dry completely or stay tacky? I've tried Lee liquid alox to reduce leading but don't care for the sticky film it leaves. Drop one on the ground and it's too dirty to use.

The molly sprays that I use , dry completely
and need to set up for about an hour.
The 2 moly sprays that I use are Hopes #9 Moly spray And Birchwood Casey's Moly Lube. Both dry in about 2 to 4 min.
