Whenever I wet tumble, I always deprime first, and primer pockets come out very clean. But I only wash brass every other reload, so in those times I use a small screwdriver...works well.

Wouldn't worry about cleaning primer pockets very much at all. I hardly ever do. Think about progressive presses... the cases get deprimed and primed in a matter of a couple strokes and the primer pocket isnt touched.

yeah, i have the option to deprime, and prime immediatley after, but was always concerned about cleaning he pockets, so i always added that extra step, then just primed while using the powder though expanding die. i was only assuming hat scraping the pocket was a necessary step because it came with the tool right? but i also saw it as an opportunity to inspect my cases. but my next batch i will try skippping that, thank you
