Why is this TT-33 so expensive?

Am I missing something?

Also, it is an ex-Soviet Tokarev. The "cheap" models are from the satellites.

Wow. That makes it worth 3 1/2 times a Romanian? And that is definitely not perfect condition, so far as I can tell. The leather is great, but the gun looks like they've been using a lot of corrosive primer ammo. I'd want to see it apart before I bought it.

I find it odd that it is listed as "import marked." That right there implies that it slipped through the cracks. I know of at least one German who is doing hard time for selling Polish Tokarevs that did not have safeties.

These were refinished East German surplus that was imported, apparently illegally, 5 or 6 years ago. They slipped through the cracks and lots were sold before they were confiscated and the importer/dealer got squashed.
