Leupold QRW Ring for Mounting Surefire on RAS
I am looking for a QD ring to mount a 6V Surefire on a KAC RAS.
The ARMs rings that I found were 30 mm and used a shim to get down to 1 inch. It looks like Leupold makes a line of rings called the QRW that would work (1 inch, Matte finish, Quick Detach). My question is: How high of a ring do I need so that the head of the flashlight will clear the RAS? My light is a standard Surefire 6V weaponlight with the shock isolated head. The only scopes I have are Aimpoints or ACOGs, so I have never wrestled with the ring height issue before. I am thinking Low or Medium height. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, James W |

Maybe a medium ring? If you mount it on the side of the rail, it should not be a problem. I remember a fellow shooter who had a rail mounted on the side of his M1A, it looked like a low ring.
