Hoffner Ultrex
Anyone familiar with this holster? Looks like a good high rise for a revolver, but I wonder if it's any good.

I have two of the Hoffners Miurage (the website includes it as an "Ultrux"), one for the K-frame and one for the N-frame. Since this is the revolver forum, I am hoping that is what you are inquiring about.
http://www.hoffners.com/holster.htm http://www.hoffners.com/min4a.jpg They are a well engineered, clever design. In my humble opinion, it works very well with a 4" K-frame, and that is the one I bought first. I was impressed enough that I added an N-frame one about a year ago. However, the additional size and weight of an N-frame makes it a bit less stable and more difficult to carry comfortably. |

After a lot of research, I purchased that holster for my 3" GP100 last fall and have been thoroughly impressed. Under a loose t-shirt or untucked button-up, the gun disappears and is quite comfortable. A co-worker, and fellow revolver fan, tried it on and ordered one for his S&W 65 4" the same day. He's been carrying it for 2 months now and seems satisfied as well.
Regards, Lucky

Another favorable data point. Have one for a 4" K-frame. It works.
