Unburned powder

I have had a lot of unburned IMR 4227 powder in a 44 mag load, with 240 grain LSWC and 21.5 grains of the above powder. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before. I have read that it has to be a hot load to burn the powder effectively in the 23-24 grain range. Does anyone have any experiece with this situation? Thanks.
This was interesting, I had soooo much unburned powder it was jaming the revolver......I have alot of cleaning to do......

According to the Lyman manual, you are already over maximum load for 2400. Cast bullets do not require a lot of force to start graving, you may be better suited with a faster powder.

Scorch, time to change your glasses. He did not say, 2400 powder...he said, "...I have had a lot of unburned IMR 4227 powder in a 44 mag load..."

I'm using Rem 2 1/2 Large Pistol Primers. The Lymann book didnt call for mag primers, that was the first thing I thought of. The powder was new, so I didnt suspect a humidity problem. I may have to continue to use Unique or go to 2400. Thanks.

I'd also recommend mag primers with 4227, but it's still dirty. The advice given on a firm crimp should be followed to the letter.
