I want to buy a semi auto .22 long rifle. I shoot left handed but my strong arm is right sided. What is the difference between the two. I know the shells come out the right side, but is that dangerous. Do they have ambidextrous rifles.Also what is the best deal out ther and who can I get from. Seems like everything is right handed or out of stock. Thank you

I shoot lefty. With long guns, I own an AR15 a 10/22 and 870 shottie...all are designed for a right handed shooter, but I have not had ANY issues with shells hitting me or effecting my sight.

Yep buy yourself a browning Semi-Auto 22, they eject out the bottom, best 22 money can buy in my opinion.

I second the Browning 22 auto. Great looking and shooting rifle with bottom eject. Someone no doubt will say what if you lie down with it to shoot. It wont matter, and how often do you do that anyways?

I'm a lefty as well and have never had a problem with ejection. In fact, the only concession I've ever made to the "right handed" world is buying a left handed bolt action hunting rifle. That actually makes a pretty big difference but I disgress.....

I'm sure the Browning is a nice rifle but I'd suggest a Ruger 10/22. Pretty much text book .22lr with a ton of aftermarket add-ons if that suits you.

Watch out also for the chinese version of the browning. They use to be imported some years back and also shot very well at about 1/4 the cost.

Yep that browning .22 auto is a nice gun. My brother and myself both had one. He still has his, everytime we shoot together he pulls it out and reminds me of one of the worst trades I've ever made. I was young and dumb.

My first wife and my daughter both shot/shoot lefty. Neither one ever complained about a .22 semi.

My wife shoots a walther G22 and you can set the eject for right or left hand. Nice little gun, if you like the bull pup thing.

check out the Remington 552, it has a deflector on the ejection port. A couple of my friends are lefties and they really like shooting this 22. Tube fed 14 rounds and a very nice used one can be had for around $250.

Quite right skulls, and i miss that gun so much. I replaced it with a CZ it's a fine rifle and very accurate, i loved the semi auto for bunny shooting though.

The Browning is expensive.

The safety is still on the wrong side for a lefty.

The bottom ejection can send a HOT piece of brass right down the cuff of your right shirt sleeve. OUCH!! Been there, done that.

I shoot mostly my Marlin/Glenfield Model 60 semi-auto. No problem with ejected brass going to my right. The safety is still on the wrong side for a lefty.

I had most of them at one time or another. The Browning cost the most, but is no doubt the best. Never had a problem with hot brass from it. My wife is a lefty, and it is really her rifle, and she has never had a problem with it. The safety is on the wrong side for a lefty but was never a problem. The Ruger 10/22 is a great little rifle but everyone has one. So do I. My second favorite that I use the most of is the Browning 22 short throw lever. It shoots shorts, longs, and long rifles. Fun little rifle. My wife who is a lefty shoots them all with no problem. Just my thoughts.
