S&W M60 vs 640
I know they are extremely similar but which would be a better choice for all around use? Any differences in reliability or accuracy?

640 in my opinion. The carry options are better. Other than that which do you prefer. Pretty much the same gun

Maybe neither one
With the 640 you get excellent no fuss CCW, but only DA pull. With the 60 you get a SA option for accurate plinking(yes, it can be accurate) and also a CCW capability, but less so due to some chance of the hammer snagging on a draw. I have both to cover all bases. Otherwise, the Bodyguard is the best of both, no snag, and you can cock the hammer for accuracy if you want. That is why they are hard to find right now. Except for some well worn lightweights I have seen at shows. Check them as an option- I would love a stainless steel frame Bodyguard if such a thing exists.

Although both revolvers are still relatively new, I have a couple of hundred rounds through each without problems.

S&W M649 Stainless Steel SOG had them for about $260 or so last year. S&W M38 Airweight SOG had these for about $250. S&W M60-9 (.357magnum) I found this one at a Pawn shop for $250. You just have to consider used guns......

649!
WAAAUGH! Gimme that 649! Now that is what I am talkin about. How bout those big Uncle Mikes? Makes snubs a breeze to shoot don't they? I have those on the 60, and the smaller ones that just reach the frame bottom, on the 640. Both help, but I never had the little woodies like on the original J's.
