What's everybody's opinion on the Springfield XD Mod .2?

I've been reading a lot about the new xd mod 2 pistol. What's everybody's opinion on it?

cosmetic refresh, over a standard XD subcompact. A lot of small changes that are probably good ideas.

The "Grip Zone" emblazoned on the frame is a bit cheeseball. Perhaps they could have labelled "Muzzle Zone," "Bang Switch Zone," and "Rear Sight Zone" as well.

It is thinner and more ergonomic than the XD's traditional grip, and the grip safety blends a bit better with the backstrap. The one thing I don't like is that the bottom of the trigger guard has a pronounced edge and tends to bite my middle finger.

I also admit that after initially loving the look of the Mod 2 I am deeply turned off by "Grip Zone" wording - it's not a freaking NERF gun.

Got a good laugh out of "Muzzle Zone"

Now I'm beginning to dislike it more than before.

I really hope that "Grip Zone" is just on a few select prototypes (or even better, just photoshopped in) to be used for marketing. Otherwise they took a decent looking gun and completely ruined the aesthetics.
Kind of like the "billboard" on the side of older Rock Island 1911s.

This exact same conversation is going on just a few lines down in this thread.
