Fun video.

Since you posted the video on a firearms forum, you have to be open to a little constructive criticism.........

You need to change your grip from "teacup in saucer" to a more stable grip. Do you see how your support hand (left) is left behind when the gun recoils? This is a waste: you really may as well be shooting one-handed.

You should be wrapping your support hand around your firing hand so that it actually provides SUPPORT in the firing process. Your shooting will improve!

Here's a not-half-bad explanation and tutorial on what a proper grip looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQgLmQl1zDw

Edit: Here's Todd giving an even better tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysa50-plo48

Edit #2: Not that I'm a pro, but here's my grip on a Glock. Both hands wrapped around the entire grip.

.45M, you may want to try and improve you grip with the 45 S&W, this would afford better recoil control and quicker times back on target!

And I might can help you with the MP5.

Left hand should grip the for-stock in front of the magazine. Get your grip on it then stop and look at where your fingers are, and which parts might move while firing. You don't want to smack a thumb or anything else you are fond of

Once you have that grip in place pull it into your shoulder and lean forward so your body's weight helps with the recoil. Start semi-auto, single shots, then switch to short controlled bursts. Never "rock and roll" thru a whole mag, it will probably just get you killed one way or the other.

And, have fun, full auto is a blast.

P.S. This from first hand experience, never ever fire a .45 caliber submachine gun without a good instructor there to help you thru it. First time I shot a .45cal MAC10 suppressed I thought I had a good grip, was braced and leaning into it. That gun took me straight up in a hot half a second, it was a little embarassing to say the least.

I agree that the cup and saucer has to go if you want to improve your follow up shots. Also, if you moved your hand either closer to the muzzle or at least to where the top of the mag you'd be able to hold the muzzle rise down much better on the MP5.

All that said, shooting even with poor form is still fun!

The 10mm is a ballisticlly superior cartridge to the 9mm, as the 10mm can deliver more energy on target! The draw back is the overall cost of the ammo and avalibility...handloading provides a great solution...however, I will say that the MP5-10mm has been rough on brass based on the brass I was able to obtain from the Navy Seals and FBI range I used to shoot on.

I was wondering if larger caliber variants of the MP5 may have been looked at because of increased performance when suppressed.

I did find both 10mm and .40S&W variants but no mention of suppressed versions of these variants.

An interesting note when it comes to the MP5SD, not only is the suppressor integral to the weapon and the barrel shortened, but the bolt is ligthened as well, so you really can only use the subsonic ammo with it. I think if you used full power loads you might tear it up.

Someone here probably knows for sure tho.

when shooting any sub machine-gun it is important to hold it more firmly and closer to your shoulder.also dont hold it by the mag. my 2 cents

but on the plus side you looked like you were having a hell of a fun time!
keep up the good work
