Load data for Berrys 9mm plated bullets with Unique

The closest I could find is Ranier. Their chart shows

Caliber 9mm 115gr plated RN double struck
4.3gr Unique
CCI500
OAL - 1.165

Is that a good choice or should I change anything. Don't have a chrono but have had no problems. Please advise. Thanks

Which Berrys 115 grain?

Round nose double struck?
Flat point?
Hollow back round nose thick plated?

Bullet design impacts COAL.

Me personally, I used from 4.3 to 4.9gr of Unique at 1.150 to 1.160 OAL with Berrys 115gr plated RN.
For target shooting I target 4.5 to 4.6gr and about 1.152 to 1.155 for OAL.

But that's just me ;-)

@pgdion ... thank you very much for the answer I have been looking for. Just got off the phone with Berrys (Jason) and they would not give out loading data as they see it as a liability if they are wrong. At least he did admit that they are very similar to Ranier plated so my load data is within a safe margin according to Midway's load charts. I will also redo my OAL down to 1.155 from 1.165. Thanks again.

My Testings For My Pistol

Berry's 115 grain RNDS

R-P brass, CCI 500 primer, COAL 1.120, initial testing was 5 rounds per step, shot off sand bags, 50 feet distance, pistol was stock Springfield XDm 9mm.

Unique Powder at 4.6, 4.8, 5.0, 5.2 and 5.4 grains.

Best group from MY Pistol was with 4.8 grains of Unique - 5 shots, 0.705" average to center of group, 0.998" group width. 1.867" group height.

4.6 grains of Unique was a close second for best group.

Also tested this Berry’s bullet with two other powders, W-231 and Power Pistol, using the same length, brass and primer. Power Pistol edged out the other two powders by a slight margin in producing best group.

At this time, I prefer the heavier Berry’s 124 grain HBRNTP and HBFP bullets.

I load up Berrys 115gr and 124gr plated at 1.125 OAL, but I'm using W231 which has similar load amounts as Unique.

No problem Bimmerland, glad to help. I know many don't want to tell anyone what they should load but I have no problem sharing what I do load (and always appreciated when someone else did the same for me).
I used to seat to 1.160 OAL but seemed like the bullets were sticking out awfully far so I started pushing them in a little more. I like the new range.

btw - I moved to Power Pistol for 125gr but Unique is still my favorite for the 115gr. I'm really happy with the performance.

Not in my load manuals! The above comment could cause some really bad juju for a neophite reloader. W-231 is a faster burning powder than Unique. Two of my three quick reference manuals show W-231 maximum charge weight below the minimum Unique starting charge weight. Not the same stuff at all.
