4227
Are IMR 4227 and H4227 interchangeable? I will be loading a 22 Hornet 45 grain Sierra and stay at factory velocities. If interchangeable, was the H4227 manufactured in Scotland the same burning rate as the current H4227.

No! They are not interchangeable. Although they are very close in burn rate, the IMR is slighlt faster. The pressures are considerably different for the same load.

4227
The 4227 powders are NOT INTERCHANGABLE!
In .22 Hornet my loads [for 45 gr bullets] are: 11.3 grains 11.5 grains 7.3 grains My current load is 9.7 grains [Over Max in some books] but shoots a little over 1/4 inch at 100 yards. |

I apprecite the information. I settled on IMR 4227 and 11.3 grains. At 75 yards, the groups were about 3/4".
