King's Gunworks Update as of March 2011

http://www.kingsgunworks.com/

FYI: As many have probably noted, King's Gunworks continues to have a website (and catalogue) that hasn't been updated in several years.

I called them (looking for some King's Hardball Sights)...

According to the nice lady on the phone:

Regretfully, they no longer manufacture or sell parts.

They continue to do in-house repair & custom work on firearms.

Sounds like they have reverted to a purely brick & mortar gunsmithing operation.

They used to be one of my favorite sources for 1911 parts. When the original owner retired and the kids took over it got hard to get parts, so it doesn't surprise me that they no longer make their own parts. Too bad.

The original owner, Al, died of prostate cancer. Son Bill does gunsmithing while daughter Laura sold parts. It has been many months since I've been to the shop.

I hated to hear of King's no longer selling parts, I used many of their parts over the years.
Their ring style commander hammers; King/Tappan sights were the best in the business in my opinion.

The Kings Gun Works as you probably know is gone for a few years now. Phil Jenkins left several years ago, then Bill decided to call it quits a few years later.

I paid a visit to them a couple of years ago and it's not the same bunch of guys. Also the name of their place is called Kings Gun Armory.

I don't know why they still keep that website and catalogue online. They don't even have the parts anymore and these are not the same gunsmiths.
