Nice.

might want to block out your license plate number. Im not really sure why, but it sounds like something people would do.

Yeah, way to put one down!

But of course you must be lying, despite the pics, because a 90gr projectile out of a 243 can't kill deer with a high shoulder shot. I mean, anyone on the internet can tell you that

The bull barrel makes the .243 hit like a .270... any one on the innernet knows that...

I reckon those folks might want to ask that fellow sitting on my tailgate about that. That little round is hauling the mail and dropped him in his tracks. Anything that'll blow that shoulder apart will kill one if you hit him there.

I have to admit, if I had even thought that I'd see that one, I'd have brought my 7mm08 or 308 but I was expecting to pop and old doe that's been a nuisance to everyon sitting that stand. I was going to head shoot her with that little tack driver.

Thanks for all the kudos, it really wasn't a tough shot. Things were just prefect for it to happen. The Good Lord rewarded me that morning.

Sense I'm looking at this having missed lunch and with little hope of a early dinner what I see, beyond a very nice buck, is a plate of FRIED BACKSTRAP!!!!

Nice killin! You were just a few miles from my lease in the pics. We've hammered them this past week. 3 bucks and 7 does.

Nice buck, jelous of you guys with early seasons. One suggestion, for pictures, cut the tounge out, and use some light weight fishing line to tie the mouth closed, or stuff the tounge in and tie it up.

A Ballistic Tip!?

On the shoulder!?

Don't you know they are "grenades"?

Don't you know they ruin massive amounts of meat!?
Especially when they hit a shoulder!?

Everyone on the internet knows THAT!!!

I'm just saying.

Yeah but it was the high shoulder, straight through the scapula and through the spine. Virtually no meat harmed, plus I just had to back the truck up and drag him up into it. 4 shots fired this season, same POI on every one, 4 dead deer, zero tracking. Can you guess where I'll put the next one?

Nice buck. Congrats.
The high shoulder/lung area is my prefered shot as well. Generally less than 10 yards to find them. We hunt some of the thickest briars and brush around and tracking deer through that is not high on my list of enjoyable activities. I may loose a little meat from the shot, but not a whole deer.

That is one of the reasons I shoot to put them down immediately. Tracking jobs in the bays and swamps around here can be tough. Add in the high population of hogs, some of them big, hornery and nasty, and crawling on yuor hands and knees can be a daunting task. Not to mention that its still quite warm and Mr. No Shoulders is still roaming the woods.

A couple of the members don't understsnd why I focus on this shot so much but have become believers of late. The results are proof enough when I roll up with one in the back of the truck and haven't spent time tracking it. Meat loss had been negliable as well, dead center to a inch or two high on the scapula = dead deer.
