Beretta 71 (22lr)
Came home with a Beretta 71 the other day. I was pretty filthy. I cleaned it up over two days, using ed's red. The springs looked pretty good to me, at least the trigger, mag release, and recoil springs. Decided to give it a try and found that when the slide is locked back and a magazine is incerted the slide releases automatically.
I have not heard that this was a feature of the gun Anyone have any ideas on what might/might not be wrong and what I would do to fix it? |

I got a Beretta #71 a few months ago myself. I am still cleaning mine up. To answer your question, I would think if the mag releases the the slide then maybe the slide catch is being pushed off by the magazine follower somehow.
If I can get my extractor loosened up and working properly I will be ready to fire mine. |
