Webley Mark VI Markings

Newby here. Recently purchased a Webley Mark VI revolver. On the right side, a mark on the barrel forward of the cylinder has an X inside a D. I am told that this is a South African Mark. Broad arrow on top denotes Navy. Gun is marked 1918 on left side with Ser number 414XXX. Can anyone verify this information? Thanks!
