Older 870 - Can I Shoot Steel?
Folks, I have a Remington 870 Wingmaster (12 ga 2-3/4" 28" mod) that I bought new many years ago, with mfg code showing it was made in Dec 1982. (Got it because my Dad had one from the 1950s, and I have many great memories of time in the field with Dad & my brother.) .... With the initiatives I am hearing about to outlaw lead shot in the field, how can I find out if it is OK to shoot steel shot (upland game)? Thanks!

It is fine with the modified choke barrel.
Don't run steel thru a full choke barrel. You can have choke tubes installed to give you more shooting options. Cheers!
