I have a number of laser range finders to include a Bushnell Legend 1200 ARC. I had heard they were very good and got one.

I have had a couple of other models from Bushnell in the past and they were decent, but this one is a giant step forward. Longest return on a non-reflective target (song dog in the Big Hole) so far has been 1,116 yards. Not bad for a purchase price of less than $400.00

This was brought up at work in conversation the other day. I'm not a big fan of it because what ever I want to range I'm aiming my rifle at. Plus if I'm trying to get an idea of how far everything is when I get to my hunting spot I'm waiving my rifle around and everything can probaly see it. Bushnell makes the Elite 1500 rangefinder for about the same or you could get the Leica 1200 for a little more.
