SCAR SBR barrels from FN. Finally.

If you look on gunbroker apparently Factory SCAR 17 barrels are finally now available, instead of playing roulette with someone cutting down your barrel.

I always thought the 16 inch SCAR 16s in 5.56 looked pretty silly with the 16-inche barrels, but with a 10 or 14.5 inch barrel they look awesome.

What you'd do with a SCAR 17 SBR is beyond me, as the muzzle blast must be unbelievably loud, but it would be pretty cool.

I'd put a good suppressor on it and shoot it till the wheels fall off.

That sounds like a pretty cool set-up.

But are there any issues with shooting 7.62 through a short barrel with a can? For instance like not shooting 5.56 through a 7.5 inch AR.

I'm sure there are.

The 13" SCAR-H is used with the AAC 7.62SD by our servicemen so lucky to get one.

The 762SD was replaced by the SDN-6. The SDN is all inconel construction whereas the 762SD had an inconnel blast baffle and stainless baffles. I am guessing that there have been some erosion issues with the 762SD on the short SCAR barrels. Mike Mers has stated both cans are good on barrels as short as 12.5 inches.
