McGowen Barrel

Anyone shot these? Are they very accurate? Was wandering how they compare to Shilen as far as quality? Looking to get a prefit for my Savage std shank action

Thanks for any advice

**this is for FTR competition**

They are great barrels. Harry McGowan made barrels for about 40 years, and was well respected among the benchrest crowd. About 10 years ago he sold the company to a couple of barrel makers from Wilson, who have gone on to remove the WW2 vintage equipment and install CNC machinery and crank out possibly one of the best premium barrels available for the money. I use them all the time, they are better than Douglas or Shilen barrels IMO.
