Signatures Etc.
I would like to see the moderators insist that all posters have at least a correct state reference as to where they live. No Middle Earth stuff. It provides a great reference when somebody starts a thread about many topics whether it be about hunting, concealed carry, gun laws, etc.
Example: Recent thread about 45ACP for deer hunting. The whole topic would have been enhanced if the person starting the thread had said what state they live in and what state they hope to use the 45 ACP to hunt whitetail in. |

I think the mods should require social security numbers, too. j/k. Fewer rules/requirements = good. Let the posters decide what they want or don't want known. They'll get better feedback if they include more information with their question, but if they choose to be vague, so be it.

22-rimfire - It would be good if everyone did that, but it's not going to be a requirement here. Not only would it be too demanding of us, it would be near to impossible to actually enforce. Oh, we could be sure there is a valid state or country name in the location field, but how can we know it is the correct one without undue checking and rechecking?

Shall we register our firearms as well?
Giving a location in many post could be helpful. The requirement of the same would be detrimental.

Who said anything about registering firearms? The SSN comment does not deserve a comment.

Rimfire it was a crude comparison. I didn't mean anything by it. Only that when you try to mandate what people view as private, it will only disagree with them in some form or fashion.
