How's Lake City brass in .223?

Or should I say 5.56 NATO....

I usually don't buy brass, because I have finely-developed scrounging skills. But this was $2 per hundred for Lake City brass. So, how good is it? Should this be relegated to plinking ammo, or should I use this for the serious varmit hunting in the spring?

Lake City brass is what the High Power shooters like to use in their ARs. I understand the 223 brass is simular to Winchester. I need some brass for my match AR.....shoot me a PM with the location of your find Please.
Machine gun brass is pretty much a waste of time however.

Those seeking brass for .223 can find it in a variety of types (LC, R&P, etc) for very inexpensive from the brassman. I just got 3,000 pieces of once-fired R&P from him for $60.00 plus shipping.

If you can verify that lake city as "once-fired" you did very well indeed. One of the best cases there is.

Glad to hear its a good case. Can't verify that it was once-fired. It was on a clearance rack. But the primer pockets are pretty clean.

Just an update. Yes, LC brass can make an accurate load. I shot it at the range yeasterday, and best 2 groups were 3 shots at .65" and 5 shots at .7". Target pic in this thread.
