Chronograph

I am looking to get a rather inexpensive chronograph. Can anyone suggest a brand?

Shooting Chrony works and are pretty cheap.

If all you want is velocity, this one:

For a few more features, memory and some basic stats, this one:

I'll second the F1 Chrony. Mine's been quite reliable (and cheap).

I have the Competition Electronics pro-chrono. Works well for me.

Chrony Beta Master. The unit has so many capabilities that you will probably never use some of them.

Whichever unit you decide upon, I strongly suggest familiarizing yourself with the chrono before taking it to the range. Something as simple as shooting rubber bands across the sensors in your home will allow you to get a feel for the settings/controls.

If you go to the Shooting Chrony site, they usually have some rebuilt chronos (Gee! I wonder why they needed to be rebuilt? Don't ask my son.) for sale at reduced prices. They do come with a limited warantee.

I like the Shooting Chrony F-1. However in the Shooting Chrony line I suggest the Master version, F-1 Master, Alpha Master, Beta Master .... The Master version has a detached screen display with a 15 foot cable connector. The chrony can be out at 10-12 feet and the display on the shooting bench. No need to walk out after each shot to see the results.

....not only that, the display is thespendy part of the deal....... best to keep it out of the line of fire. The rest of the unit can be replaced for @$35 ...... don't ask me how I know.
