Shotshell Choices

Well I was wanting to reload some shotshells using quaility components, but do to time constrictions will not be able to.

Looking at all the available choices for dove hunting, I would like some advice from experienced hunters, and what shotshell you prefer.

I tried some of the sale Winchesters, and I was not happy with the performance. Big 5 has a case sale of Fiocchi dove loads, and a local gunshop has Seller & Bellots for about the same price. They are about $10.00 a case cheaper than Remingtons.

What say you guys, Fiocchi, Seller & Bellot, or Remingtons? Any other choices?

Thanks
Allen

Have not used them myself, but several friends are very happy with S&B shells.

I used some Federal promo loads the other day---and the results were less than hoped for---not sure if the bad shooting was me or the shell----I'm going to take the cheap shell out of the equation then if the shooting is bad nobody to blame but me--when I go dove hunting tomorrow---I'll be using Winchester AA's----a few more bucks---but a better shotshell.

Favorite dove medicine here is the AA Heavy Target load in 7 1/2 shot.Second choice would be my reloads that dupe those AAs.

The Federal Promos sold in the 4 box sleeves are pretty good, and relatively cheap. One correspondent dissected one and found it to have the same components as Fed's trap loads, only the hull was different.

I've used the Fiocchis for trap. Good shells.

About my last resort for doves would be the generic "Dove" loads. Soft, cheap shot and components mean lousy patterns at distance, and doves are rarely a close range sport.

Fiocchi #8 (orange hulls) in a full-choke Auto 5 = great results.
Federals in 4x25 packs in a 20ga Winchester 1300 = good results.
Winchester Super Speed promo loads in tha same 20ga = mediocre results and occasional FTFs.
