pmp 223 ammo

Does anyone have any experience with PMP 223 ammunition.
That is, is it reliable, accurate etc? Also Cheaper Then Dirt Sells Surplus South African 223 in battle packs, (is this ammo good) and is it by chance from the same ammo as PMP just not in commercial packageing.

thanks guys

I used about 500-rounds of PMP ammo last summer, till the shop that i buy my ammo from ran out of it. It was 100% reliable in my AR15, accurate was good, not tops but good, and the price is good.

I use .223 PMP in my two ARs (Oly Arms 1:9 and Colt 1:7 chromed), its more accurate than I am. Its not the cleanest stuff out there, but its only $72/500 rounds delivered from Century Arms. The battle packs are military production, made by the same company but the ammo is hotter and primed with a non-reloadable primer.

Battle pack ammo has noticeable, though not huge, muzzle flash. Commercial doesn't. I like Gazelle box PMP: it is clean and accurate in my 20" Bushmaster. Have not had any failures to function with it.

Never used the battle-pack stuff, but I have used a lot of the gazelle-boxed stuff. Accuracy wasn't bad, and it is very clean burning. I use it in my PWA and my Rock River, and it is really good plinking ammo. Very little muzzle flash, too, even out of an 11.5" barrel. I can get it almost as cheap as Wolf, and its definitely cheaper than anything else I've found. I recommend it!

I use the battlepack variety. Excellent ammo, especially for the price. My 20" Bushmaster can wear out the 9&10 ring of a NRA highpower target at 100 yards....OK, sometimes the 8 ring too

Man, maybe I should give that stuff another try. I had nothign but trouble with it. We were at Gunsite and it choked in:

DPMS AR-15
ASA AR-15
M96
Bushmaster
and a Colt....

I haven't tried to use it since.
