Forcing Cone Erosion with Lil' Gun

I've been using Lil' Gun in my 454 with good results, but I've read lately that it burns very hot and as a result causes rapid erosion of the forcing cone. After firing, the barrel does seem unusually hot, but that may just be my imagination. Anyone have any insights on this?
