VihtaVuori loading data : +P or not +P ?
I realize V-V powders are not the most commonly used in the US, bu they are very good and -best of all- readily available over here.
The .38 Spl loading data on their site don't mention if the loads generate regular or +P pressure. Does anyone here know of another source for .38 spl. loads with V-V powders, so I could cross-reference ? |

Speer #14 has some +P .38 Special loads using N350 and 3N37.

First, +P loads should be designated by pressure, not velocity.
38 Special 17,000 Maximum Average Pressure (PSI) 38 Special +P 18,500 Maximum Average Pressure (PSI) VV does not list their pressure. I looked at the VV manual #6 dated 7/08. Loads there are a great deal higher than those listed by 45 Colt, or those listed in the VV manual #7 currently on line.. chriske If you are interested in the #6 pdf, please PM me and I will e-mail it to you, however, should you choose to load with #6 data, use caution, because there must be a good reason VV reduced them.
