Finally!

I've been working on a load for my Sharps using a 518 gr. cast roundnose, paper patched. My goal was to get to around 1,500 fps and stay below a max pressure of 29,000 psi with acceptable accuracy. The bullet was cast from wheel weights, weighed, heat treated, sized and patched up then lubed and sized with homemade lube. The cases were neck-sized and annealed, trimmed, then seated with a mild taper crimp.

Nice group.

I'd say you are ready when they come out with a few cloned Tyrannosaurus Rex. That likely will happen out there where you live.

Now if you lived in Texas, where everything is BIG, your load would be about right for hunting rabbits.

I'll tell you what: 10 rounds is a full day's shooting!
