Need a model 1917 30-06 barrel, new
Aquired a Model 1917 30-06, looks like issued yesterday, made by Winchester in 1918. Barrel is frosty and dark, shoots pretty well, though.
This one is a keeper and I want it to be a real shooter, the only barrel I seem to locate is at Gun Parts (Numrich) which has to have machining for the extractor cut and front sight. I would like to locate a new barrel that my gunsmith can headspace and install that doesn't need additional machining other than what might be needed to headspace. Even a bright and shiny good used barrel? Thanks, podnuhs if you can help? |

Check eBay. Occasionally you'll find a NOS JA barrel there.

If you can hold of for a little bit I understand that the CMP is talking to Criterion about making a run of M1917 barrels. As of now no ETA though.
