What do you think about the sig p239 .I have a 40cal and a 357 barrel for it. I carry it some times. is it a keeper or should I trade it in for something different. Thank you just looking for input.

I like the P239. It's a great gun in my opinion. But the important question is how comfortable and accurate are you with it. If the answer is very, why would you consider anything else ?
Regards, Rob

I think you'd know the answer to that better than us.

It's generally considered a very high-quality gun. If you don't like it, I wouldn't sell it too cheap or trade for something cheap.

A P239 DAK is my most carried off duty gun. In 357 SIG. For me, it's just big enough to shoot like a full size gun yet compact enough to carry all the time.

Super nice handgun. I find myself leaning toward pistols of this size. Haven't found fault with any of my SIG's. Mine is a SAS Gen ll model.

Why are you asking us?
Personally, I like them though my hands are too big for them. I picked one up for my wife earlier this year since I wanted a single stack compact that fit her smaller hands. She now shoots her P239 better than I can shoot most of my guns. On paper, they're outclassed by similarly sized guns in terms of capacity and weight, but it's a nice shooting gun that works very well, particularly for people with smaller hands that want a gun that's comfortable and easy to shoot. |

The quality of the gun is second to none and if you shoot it well, there's no reason to trade other than capacity. I often carry a 5 shot revolver or 7+1 auto and never feel outgunned but that's extremely personal.
The odds of me needing a gun are very low. The odds of me needing more than 5 rounds are vanishingly small. Of course there are exceptions but we all play the odds in one way or another. If I was a LEO, I would probably carry a G23 or Sig 229 off duty. As a private citizen, I just don't see the need for higher capacity.
