I use Bullseye for my "softball" loads for shooting 2700s. Either 3.5 or 3.7 grains of BE with a 185 long nose SWC. And I use Bullseye to duplicate the hardball load for Leg matches with the 230 grain FMJ bullet. For a practice hardball load, I use 4.0 of BE with a 230 grain lead RN bullet.

I like 231 because everybody carries enough stock when I can't get a couple pounds of Titegroup. Both shoot almost the same but 231 uses a little more powder per case than Titegroup.

Bullseye or 700-x......IMHO, both very accurate 45acp powders.

I mostly use 700-X, AA#7 or 231 in my .45.
I also use 700-X in a Ruger .357, but it's a little fast.

I've used Bullseye, Titegroup and Clays for target use, they're all good. Unique for standard loads.

I've used 231 almost exclusively for my .45 ACP reloading. I'm very happy with it.

I wish I could get 231 by me. For some reason Bass Pro Shops doesn't carry it, so I buy HP38. It's supposed to be the same or very similar to 231, except that some books have slightly different weights for them.

The reason I would prefer 231 is that almost every manual has recipes for it (only a few have HP38).

For plated or jacketed bullets I've had excellent results with Bullseye, W-231, AA#5 and Unique, bullet weights of 185,200 and 230gr though a Colt 70's ser. And with my Marlin Camp .45 Unique and Blue Dot do best.

Just made 750 rounds of 185 gr HBRN / 4.6- 5.2 grains at 1.250 and 1.255 OAL. Cleaned up the workshop. Found four on final weigh in 8 grains over and tossed them. My limit is 3.4 grains.
50 @ 4.6 grains
50@ 4.8
450@ 5.0 grains
200@ 5.2 grains

Just did about 750 with Tite Group 4.6 grains -5.2 / Berry's 185 hbrn's.
