I have a S+W 4006. Is there a place on the internet that shows the complete disassembly of this pistol? If not, does anyone know where I can obtain this information?

I'd like to know also. That is the most complicated pistol to break down that I own.

The best advice I can give on full disassembly of S&W auto pistols is DON'T. These are not M1911/A1s, made to be taken down in the field with only parts of the gun for tools. They are tricky to disassemble and trickier to reassemble.
Normal barrel cleaning, plus a little spray cleaner and a small amount of a good gun oil is all that is needed to keep them shooting for a long time. Jim |

You might also want to invest in one of the video's by AGI. They are not much in the way of gunsmithing but are good armorer's courses. Midway sells them for about $30-40 I think.

Got the email, George. Thank you.
Jim, I wholeheartedly agree with what you say. I started to detail it about a year ago, but rapidly came to the same conclusions and stopped before any damage was done. But, being the kind of guy I am, I do want to know how to do it. |
