Rifle Shooting Yesterday

While I was trying out the new revolver yesterday, the wife wanted to check
Her sights on the little rifle she put together 16 years ago .It is a Thompson
Center. Has a 40 caliber Green Mt barrel on it. It was a flintlock and I converted
It to percussion . Wife didn't like flint. She shot this from 50 yds sandbag. After
Shooting the four shots on the left which measures 1/2 inch center to center,
she made a slight sight adjustment and shot the right one. She says IT'S ON!!
Women, whaddy going to do with them? I guess you want to know the load . I
would. The barrel measures .400 land to land. It is a 1-48 twist. Load 55 grs
Goex FF. Ball .410, patch .022 Teflon coated. Cap CCI no 11 regular. Yes the
Numbers are correct, yes she pushes the ball down with one finger on top of
The ramrod, Yes she has to use a small brass hammer to start the ball in the
Barrel. Yes she wipes between shots. But boy does it SHOOT!!

.

I like it - Did she do the stock carving, when she put it together ?

That's one of the nicest-looking stocks, I've seen on a T/C in a very long while.

Yes she did all the work. All I did was to convert it from flint to cap and I
Browned the barrel. She put 17 coats of Tru Oil on it. Cut the stock off to
Fit her. She named it her Kick Ass gun! Whoa!!

Yaw gott'a love those T/Cs. Nice gentle push the 40-45s have unlike its bigger brothers. Your wife has her's zeroed in. No doubt about that!! Have you considered having your Mrs. sight your rifle in also?_

Respectable group.

May we please have a close-up of her stock carving?
