I have a Model 28 S&W with a six in barrel. I would like to start shooting IDPA SSR with it.

Per rules can only have a 5 in tube maximum. Is it better to rebarrel, or is it better to cut off, recrown, and reattach the front sight? What are the advantages or disadvantages to this? What would be the estimated cost of either, not exact, just ballpark?
