1937 8mm german mauser

i am the owner of a 1937 8mm german mauser, and i really dont know anything about it.....could anyone please help with some history on it please.

I know it beats a wartime mauser by a mile.

( wartime mausers had a case/scale hardened receiver that is subject to get out of spec)
