Sig 556 Price Check
I bought a Sig 556 with a factory Halo sight new in 2008. I am not into rifles and the gun has been sitting in the safe unfired since new. I would like to sell it, but have no idea what to ask on a ftf private sale. Local gun store offered me $500.00, which is too low since I paid about three times that for it.
Thanks |

Somewhere between $950 and $1300 is what I've been seeing. The gun is "used - unfired", so unless your area is really depressed, I'd start at the high end and see what happens. You can always come down... but'cha can't go up.
Best, C

Thanks. I am going to advertise it locally for a ftf sale. Would like to get 1K, and sounds like that would be about right.

Sounds like a very fair price to me... shouldn't have any trouble getting interested parties.
Best 'O luck, C

$500 is low but not necessarily from a dealer, they'll probably sell it for around $700-$800 used. But it depends on which model you have, i'm assuming the base model without rails?
You can go to ar15.com and use their equipment exchange and ship from your FFL to their FFL, i'm sure you can get $700-$1000 used for it depending on the model. Or you can try armslist.com which is just like craigslist. I recommend not meeting people in private, meet at an FFL and do the transfer or ship it to the FFL. It's much much safer that way, and makes sure everything is legit with background checks and everything. |

Looked at armslist.com. Nice that you can list by location. I am not sure which model this is. Receipt says Sig 556 Halo Sight. On the hard case it has SIG556007. Date 8/21/2008.

Good starting point for placing a value...I would expect to sell it for $850ish unless it is the model with the railed handguard.
