umarex 1911?
Hello all I saw an umarex 1911 today. I guess they are made in turkey. Are they any good? And can you find another 1911 in that price range of better quality? Thanks all.

The only umarex 1911's I am aware of are made in .22 caliber or are an air gun. There are several companies that make either a .22 1911 or a conversion kit to make it that way. How much was the one you saw?

It's a good, solid 1911, and you are correct: You will probably never find a NEW 1911 for anything near the price.
M1911.org reviewed it awhile ago. I have since handled one at the range shop where I shoot. If I were on a budget and didn't already own a 1911, I'd give it a hard look. http://ezine.m1911.org/showthread.php?t=110 |

I bought the more compact version. The R350CR which has a 4" barrel and a rail. I like it, the fit and finish is good and the trigger pull is about 5 pounds. I have heard there are/were issues with magazines so I bought 3 Mec-Gar mags to replace the stock one. It has three dot sites which will be replaced with night sights and I will have the trigger set to 3 pounds.

Sorry for the late response. The asking price for a stainless one was 604 dollars. Had a 5 inch barrel. Looked great.
