Putting Trac-Loc Sights on an 870 with a Rib?

I'm planning to send an older Wingmaster to Wilson Combat for their Remington Steal package. It currently has a bead sight, and I thought I needed to have a new bead installed when they shorten the barrel. I have read that installing ghost rings (front sight) on a rib is not as strong as installing it on a bare barrel, but the guy at Wilson said it was very strong. He said they have a front sight that is machined to mount on the rib and is epoxed in place and then pinned.

My question is, have any of you tried this? Will the rib be strong enough to hold up to this?

Thanks for any help.
