I am looking for a paddle holster for a colt cco ( which is a commander length slide). I have found two paddles that I like. They have variable rake angle adjustments, one galco,
one bianchi, neither in commander length. My
long winded question is does anyone carry there commander lenth 1911 in a gov. or officer length holster?

Take it easy there fella...

I carry my XS Commander in my Officers ACP Galco Concealable. It works just fine with this partiular holster because of the very open muzzle. My Commander doesn't fit in some other Officers holsters because the muzzle is either closed or not open enough for the slide to go through. I'm going to buy a Comcealable holster for the Commander sometime soon.

If you are looking for a good paddle holster, I just started using a Safariland 560. It has the most comfortable paddle I've ever worn! It isn't adjustable for cant, but it does conceal quite well under a vest or jacket.

I use a Safariland 5181 paddle for my commander. No, they don't make it in "commander length", I hacksawed the appropriate length off the bottom and dressed it with a dremel tool, looks like it came that way. I also have one in officers length for my V-10, nice holster.

When I carried a Commander, I used a Galco FLETCH paddle. Worked OK, but the retention strap tended to knock the safety down... until I cut it off.

Try bob Mernickles Custom Holsters. He has a site on the web. I have a paddle made by him for my CCO. He also works with a woman that does very nice carving. Mine is carved and I always get comments on it.
