Modern scopes for ww2 guns
I'm looking for scout mounts for my type 99 7.7x58, my 7.62x54 mosin and my 7mm Chilean Mauser. I've some sights such as accumounts.com but I worry about actualy getting what I order.

I have the scout mount on, now what?
I've bought a cheap tasco scope from walmart but I'm not sure if it will work it's 39x50spld. I will be mounting it on my mosin and shooting brown bear soft tips. I want to hunt deer with it, this will be my first year hunting them. Any suggestions would help, but keep in mind I'm living on soldiers pay so I cant spend a whole lot

You will need to get a long eye relief scope or a red dot for this set up to do you any good. Handgun scopes and dedicated "scout" scopes have eye relief greater than 12" which is what you will need. Or you can use a red dot scope. I had a red dot on my Mosin M44 and it was real fun even though it looked kinda awkward.

"...looking for scout mounts..." Don't bother. The whole 'scout rifle' concept was one of Jeff Cooper's more stupid ideas. Buggers the balance of any rifle and no military sniper/scout would carry a bolt action with a scope in the wrong place.
