.17 HMR on Armadillo?

I have been wondering. Will a .17 HMR kill an armadillo? Or should I just leave it to the neighbor and his 12 gauge? I use the V-Max rounds on squirrels, but was thinking of using Hornady XTPs on armadillos. Anyone ever kill one with a .17 HMR?

I have hunted them with great results using both my .22lr and my Gamo 1,000fps .177cal pellet gun. Most shots with either rifle were at 30 yards or less...

Most shots will be within 25 yards. They like to dig up the front yard, so sitting back on the porch at taking shots at them will be easy.

If you can get them frag varmint bullets it oughta be cool as they will surely break apart on the 'dillar hide. They should really POP on impact...
