Something interesting.
I recieved my Mold for my 220gr. .456 Lee Conical bullets for my Pietta '58 with it's 5-1/2" barrel "ordered it since I had reamed the chambers to .451 no too long ago" & last night I made 125 bullets from it.
Each bullet that passed my inspection weighed 220.0 - 220.6 grains & measuring them I found something interesting. First ring that is inserted into the chamber = .4485 Second ring ........................................ = .4500 Third Ring ........................................... = .4555 I knew that the first ring was slightly smaller to help in loading but I didn't know that the second was as well, & they are real easy to load into the chambers of my Remington Copy. Each Bullet was roll lubed with Lee Liquid Alox & when loaded into the chambers a touch of Bore Butter over the bullet for extra lubing. Any one have an idea what kind of performance I may get out of this with 35gr. FFFG Goex? |
