I read a media item(Chicago Sun Times or Chicago Tribune I don't recall) about a Chicago city elected official who was strongly anti-gun anti-2A yet, had a valid PI license & a concealed carry license for years.

The double-standards and audacity some politicos have is off the charts but IL & Chicagoland seem to have more than their share.

I feel for the gun owners & 2A supporters in the Windy City but they need to stay on the local media(which could be slanted too) to report these hypocrites & anti-gun activists.

The person your referring to (I think ) was Sen. Donne Trotter, who tried to bring his carry gun onto a plane, with the excuse that he'd forgotten it was in his pocket.

What makes this particularly offensive is that his salary as a Senator is $65,000 plus additional pay depending on the committees he was on. This is not counting other benefits and "gifts" that may be given him. Why does a person making this kind of money need a $9 an hour security job? Oh i know, to have a card allowing him to carry a gun. I I'd let that pass except he doesn't want to extend the same right to the rest of us]

The Alderman or Chicago bigwig I mean may be Bill Quinn or Pat Quinn.
He has a PI license and claims he needs a firearm for protection but is anti-2A/anti gun.
I'll do a little research later on. I'm not clear on all the details but it's in Cook County/Chi-Town.

Have the votes to override Madig...I mean Quinn's veto?

It may not matter. If the good governor vetoes, then there will be no carry law as permissively allowed by the Court of Appeals, and the Court will then issue an injuction barring Illinois from enforcing its ban on concealed carry. Do you think that will happen? I hope these guys are smart enough to know that a law they don't like is beter than no law at all.

It's possible(how likely I'm not sure) that they're willing to let the 180 days expire, and let the carry law expire and then let each county make their own no carry zones. The problem is that people traveling will have problems trying to navigate through all the different local ordinances that may spring up. Outside of Chicago/Cook may not be a problem, but you can bet Chicago will try to play some games.
