Ball park wait times

Hey guys,
I purchased a SBR around the 13th of October, and the dealer still hasn't gotten permission to transfer it to my dealer. I've been waiting for my stamp to come back on my MG since May of 2012.

How long have you guys been waiting? Does it seem like the time is getting longer?

from pending to approved is typically 6-7 months.

Form 3s (I think that's what they are called) from dealer to dealer take about 1-2 months.

if its a custom build it can take a very long time. Its not unheard of for a guy to pay for a custom set up and have to wait over a year to take possession of it.

I paid for my first suppressor 2-10-12

It was a custom 45-70 one for my Marlin.

To this day I still dont have the stamp.

It went pending July 18th. It was approved 1/3/12, now I am just waiting for the stamp to arrive at my FFL.

all 26 of my guns are 45/70 govt, 357 mag, 22 or 12 ga... I believe in keeping it simple. Wish my wife did as well...

Nebraska transfers were taking 10-13 months, now that examiner is gone and supervisors are doing them in 7-9 months.

Your state may vary because you have a different examiner.

So you know who your examiner is?

Where can you go to check the status? I know they cashed the check for the one MG.

re: Ball park wait times

I'm in the whiskey, and all I could think of when reading the post title was "Why would they wait in a ball park?"

I'm sorry. Going to bed now.

Be sure to have the serial number of the item in question before calling to check the status. Also the dealer must check the box of the form that will allow you to check the status otherwise the dealer will need to call for you.

I gave in an called about a suppressor last month that had the check cashed on July 9th. At that time I was being told by others that wait times had improved and were in the 4 month range to I decided to check. I was told that the item went pending July 20th "to be completed in January". January makes six months and I can live with that. I sure hope it doesn't turn in to a 10-12 month wait like some are reporting.

For those who have called in the past - generally how accurate is the "to be completed in.." date?

It varies from examiner to examiner. I think I got screwed when it went from dealer's name to state assignment.
I don't care as long as I get my Mini4 by July.

My past two form 3 (dealer to dealer) took two weeks, then a month for the other.

Form 4's after that were 5 months and 6 months, to the day for both.
