180gr .357 Bullets striking too high---

I have a S&W model 65 4 inch round butt revolver that has fixed sights.
I've tried several different loads with the Hornady 180 XTP bullet to get
it to shoot point of aim at 20-25 yards and it always hits 4-5 inches high
or more. Any ideas what to do ?
I worked up another load out of the old Speer # 8 manual with 15.7gr
of 2400 powder and a 146gr Speer hp bullet that is super accurate but
it was a little high too.
In my S&W model 66 I was shooting 16.3 gr of 2400 and the 146gr Speer
and it was dead on at 25 yards. That is a really HOT load that needs to
be worked up to with CAUTION.
Any ideas about the 180 XTP in the model 65 ?
I was wanting a hunting only load for it.
Thanks

sites

the 65 4" barrel is designed for 158 gr. heavier will hit hi & liter will hit low,
slow 158 gr. will even go a little hi.

there are ways to add to the front site but its easier to just drop back to 158 gr projectiles, try gluing a peice of summtin on top of the site to try before puttin effort makin it permanent of sort.
i have a 4" i glued a glow tube to the top of it & slowed the 158 gr. down to hit poa, just a thought.

Pistols will do this. The extra recoil of the heavier bullet will push the POI higher. Try a taller sight if you really want to shoot the 180's. Or a longer range and let gravity bring it back down.
