Sig X-Five L-1 models .....are all stainless, and have the wood Nil grips.../ not the nitron finish or ivory grips.../ I think you might confused on the models...

http://thefiringline.com/forums/atta...4&d=1359744729 --- this is a photo of my X-Five L-1 model.../ and as far as I know they're still shipping them the same way today ( a buddy just bought a new one in 9mm about 3 months ago, and his is identical to mine).

I'm not implying people in Montana are savages, I was born and raised there...I was just yanking your chain....

Is that how it came from the factory?

I guess I'm behind the times. I thought all X-Five L1 models were just matte stainless with Nill grips.

Mine is custom. I bought it all stainless with Karl Nill wood grips. I did the aftermarket titanium nitride plating, and replaced the nill grips with the ivory ones. Aisku?

I guess. My answer still hasn't changed, but they are great shooting pistols-one of the most accurate ever built.

Since you aren't worried about concealment, go for it.

I wouldn't make those changes to my X-Five L-1 model either
Bac1023,....but to each his own / its his gun ....

I like the X-Five L-1 model a lot ....but I'm not sure it would make the top 5 guns in my safe these days .....behind :

a pair of 1911's from Wilson Combat
a nice Freedom Arms revolver
a nice model 27-2 4" S&W revolver
a nice model 29-3 S&W revolver......

( my X-Five sits in the safe a lot ) when those other 5 guns, get a lot of range time....

Thanks, I enjoy each of them a lot ( and the other 25 handguns / and about 20 shotguns and several rifles )....

I'm not just a one-trick pony .... ....or maybe I just have an attention deficit problem...( of course my wife thinks I'm nuts - but her opinion doesn't count unless she's listening...)...

X-five in your other post u claimed you had not yet gotten your xfive plated or the ivory grips. Now u say its done? U have a s&w 500 but wants Taurus raging judge!?

U still trying to buy that RPG too?

Lol. I'm smelling some Gecko45 Here...

I'll believe a plated xfive with ivory when I see a picture.

Your not the only one. First it was wondering if he should buy a damascus steel framed, $20,000 x-five (something that doesn't exist) and rhodium plating. Now that has suddenly changed into owning a titanium nitride plated x-five with custom ivory grips, all in a little over a months time. A short look at the OP's history of posts shows that something is definitely off here.

I'm with you Venom. I'll believe it when I see it.

I didn't realize it was the same person. The $20,000 Damascus steel X-Five was total BS.

Your collection from what I've seen, is only eclipsed by your modesty.
There must be an X5 in there somewhere.

I often carry a 5inch 1911 for ccw, usually in a shoulder rig, or in a custom made flat of the back holster with no problems....although i am 6'3" and about 230lbs and weather in my area doesnt really get above 60

What is wrong with you? I'm joking I didn't get the titanium nitride plating, nor damascus steel thing. That WAS THAT I WAS THINKING TO DO. The Tombstone grips are making me ivory grips on my L-1. Maybe I will post a photo when everything is done.

You'll have to forgive our confusion, considering this is what you posted earlier:

I remember now, you were thinking of buying the damascus 226 X-five, that nobody had ever heard of, for $20,000.

Really?

You just told me a few posts before that you did get it done.

Quit the nonsense if you want people to take you seriously.

im still skeptical, me thinks u got caught up in to much BS and got burned.

post a pic with a S&W 500 and a whatever xfive pistol with some note paper with X-five TFL written on it. Then ill buy it.

I don't mind crazy questions but lying about what you own in an online gun forum... that's just pointless.

Ok, no more benefit of the doubt from me either...

Take care guys - have a good weekend - I'm done with this thread. ( I might take my X-Five to the range this afternoon - since I've been neglecting it ...) ...

We don't succumb to bickering or name-calling, and that's what this thread has done. It's not going anywhere entertaining or productive.
